Discovering Traditional Chinese Medicine

my Journey

yin & yang: a state of constant cyclical movement

Each contain the a seed of the other: Within Yin there is Yang and within Yang there is Yin.

Allowing them to cycle and transform into one another.

An example of this is the warm yang brightness of day shifting into the cool yin darkness of night.

This dance of opposites is the essence and core of Chinese Medicine.

THe healing i received from INTEGRATING Acupuncture, moxa, chinese herbs & Food therapies into my life to balance my hormones & menstrual cycle began my journey of sharing this ancient wisdom with others.

My initial introduction to Chinese Medicine was in Vancouver, BC in the mid 1990's. My dad was referred to an Acupuncturist for pain relief. At the time I didn’t really understand what the Acupuncturist was doing. What I remember from that experience was it was that for the first time he had some relief from his chronic arthritis pain.

I first sought out Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for my own well being a few years later while living on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Prior to moving to Hawaii I had begun a home study course (pre-online courses) in Western Herbology at Wild Rose College and had developed a passion for herbs.  So, naturally, when seeking out an Acupuncturist it was important to me that the practitioner also integrated Chinese Herbs into their treatment plan. It was then that I experienced first hand the full range and healing potentials of Chinese Medicine.  I had stopped taking birth control pills a year or so prior and was experiencing all kinds of irregularities with my cycle and hormone imbalances: bleeding almost half of the month, debilitating cramps, anemia, low appetite, and fatigue.

Once I got on into my routine of bi-weekly Acupuncture and supportive Chinese Herbs for different phases of my cycle I started to notice positive changes. My Acupuncturist made diet and lifestyle suggestions that further supported my healing.  As my energy returned so did my zest for life. I began developing a deeper interest into how Chinese Medicine worked and read some beginner books on the subject. Things began to click inside me the medicine’s elemental roots made sense to me. I felt a deep sense of resonance and knowing that sparked something within me that led me down my current life path as an Acupuncturist and Herbalist.

I am eternally grateful to my ancestors, teachers, and family who have supported me through my journey.
